Kohli equalled Dhoni’s record when India crushed West Indies by 318 runs in the first Test in Antigua earlier this week.Virat Kohli also has the best winning percentage among India Test captains. Kohli tops the list with 57.44 percentage while MS Dhoni finished with 45 perecent and Sourav Ganguly had an impressive win percentage of 42,85.Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also surpassed Sourav Ganguly to become the most successful captain for India in overseas Test. India were expected to be tested in their overseas tours in the following season but they were impressive despite not getting the right results in South Africa and England.India created history in Australia when they clinched their first-ever Test series win Down Under, beating Tim Paine’s men 2-1.India eye a first in West Indies TestsVirat Kohli and his men will be eyeing another record as India have never won all the Tests on their tour to West Indies. Having won the T20I and the ODI sereis and then begun the Test series on a high, the visitors are favourite to complete a 2-0 whitewash of te West Indies in the Test series.advertisementIt will be interesting to see if India would tamper with a winning combination for the second Test as they had left out the likes of R Ashwin and Rohit Sharma from the Antigua Test.Nonetheless, India came up with a dominant show led by vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane who ended his 2-year-long drought for an international hundred. Rahane followed up his first innings 81 with a match-winning hundred in the second innings. Captain Virat Kohli, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari chipped in with a half-century each.In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma stole the show, picking up 14 wickets between them. Bumrah’s second innings spell that read 8-3-7-5, it is safe to say, would have had a demoralising effect on the West Indies batting unit which needs to step up to avoid a 2-0 whitewash. Also Read | Bharat Arun on Jasprit Bumrah’s Antigua heroics: Best spell of fast bowling from an Indian in long timeAlso Read | Rahul Dravid’s replacements for U-19 and India A coach jobs appointedAlso Read | India vs West Indies: Virat Kohli’s men attend official team dinner ahead of Jamaica TestAlso See:last_img
